Served lunch at the Drop In Centre.
Saw an acquaintance. Didn’t know what to say.
He’s a quadriplegic. Part of a group of people that gets (theoretically) more governmental financial support than most.
How did a quadriplegic slip through enough cracks to end up at the DI in order to eat?
Life on the street is hard. For anyone. But in a wheelchair it’s 10x harder. When you can use stairs or alleys or fit into most bathrooms.
How did this happen?
And, more importantly – how do we fix it?
